I cannot believe that it is already August. The summer seems to have gone by very quickly.
In late June, I attended my cousin Kayla’s wedding in Bismarck, North Dakota. The wedding and reception was very nice and she married a quality guy in Jeremie.

Here is a family portrait of all of my Aunts and Uncles on my Mom’s side with my Mom and Grandma.

Here is a picture of Grandma with all of the cousins. Some random lady took the picture, so I tried not to cringe too much that someone was holding my pricey camera!
Laura stayed home with the kids. It was her first real test of taking care of both kids all by herself. She survived.
As mentioned in a previous post, Linden went to her first Twins game earlier in the summer. Xander, Linden, and I also went to our first Saints game. Laura had been to games previously. The game was fun and we had great seats. Being a non-smoker, I really did not appreciate the two guys down our row who were smoking cigars. There were a lot of smokers there, which makes me think that the Saints will still have an audience in 2010.

Xander has always shown an interest in music as shown in the picture here with his Uncle Matt:

This summer he has begun to take an interest in sports. He cannot catch for nothing, but he is beginning to throw and kick balls. He throws lefty and kicks righty. He also holds a golf club lefty. Yet, as I write this, he plays guitar righty.

Linden is growing like a weed. She has always had a strong neck, so sitting in a chair back in July at three months was no problem for her:

She is always the happiest baby. If you give her attention and make kissy noises, you can usually get a smile from her:

We rarely see this:

Xander is growing like a weed as well and has truly lost his toddler look. He is a little boy now:

We have had many family and friends to our house to see the kids and us. The kids’ Grandparents and uncle recently visited from Bowman.

Last week, the kids got to play with their cousin Olika:

Other than that, we have been busy going to games, cleaning, visiting, and tending the garden (are not based on the zucchini we discovered):

All in all, it has been a good summer and we look forward to enjoying the rest of it if we can!
